    About GOALKEEPERS' UNION

  • Goalkeepers’ Union aims to provide goalkeeper training to young footballers in the Queanbeyan and Canberra area. Whilst our region has excellent participation rates in football, there is a lack of dedicated training for aspiring goalkeepers.

In an effort to provide access to goalkeeper training in the 2024-25 off-season, Goalkeepers’ Union will run training weekly for all levels and ages to promote goalkeeping and develop the fundamental skills for the position. The training will also develop some of the fundamental skills required on the field including first touch and striking the ball.

    About Blair

Blair holds a Football Australia C Diploma and Foundations of Goalkeeping Certificate, NSW Working With Children Check, ACT Working With Vulnerable People registration, and insurance for the training activities.

Blair grew up in Canberra and was a goalkeeper with Belnorth as a junior and represented the ACT at junior and senior levels. He played for Canberra Olympic and Belconnen United in the ACT Premier League, and the ACT Academy of Sport in the National Youth League. At age 20 Blair travelled to the UK and, after trials and training spells in London, spent a season in the Scottish League with Queen’s Park. Blair’s involvement in football was re-ignited when his children started playing football. As they have grown with the game so has his interest and involvement in coaching both players and goalkeepers.
